Amarilli Nizza takes the role of Aida again in Naples and Verona

The Italian soprano Amarilli Nizza´s many engagements keep her on her toes: each month she has been singing a different role. In April she was Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza and at the Comunale in Modena; in May she was Tosca at the Carlo Felice in Genoa, and in June she made her debut in the role of Minnie, the leading lady in Puccini´s La Fanciulla del West, at the Hamburgische Staatsoper in Hamburg (Germany).

In July and August she will once again take the role of Aida, the female lead in the opera of the same name, this time in Naples and Verona. On the 21st, 26th and 30th July and the 2nd August she will take the stage at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and on the 9th, 14th and 18th August she will return to the Verona Arena festival, also in the role of the Ethiopian princess. In spite of her youth, Amarilli Nizza is already a veteran in this Verdi role, having made her debut as Aida in 2001 in Athens.  She has also sung the role at the Verona Arena in practically every summer festival since 2005. This particular production is directed by Gianfranco de Bosio.
