The Italian soprano’s upcoming engagements will fully immerse her in Puccini operas.
Amarilli Nizza’s Italian debut in the emblematic role of Lady Macbeth at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna was an absolute triumph. A warm reception from the audience and her excellent performance of this dark character were the factors brought her resounding approval from Italian opera critics: “The soprano Amarilli Nizza managed to produce the exacting vocal palate that Verdi demanded for the extremely complicated role of Lady Macbeth,” Il Resto del Carlino.
And from Verdi to Puccini: The soprano’s next engagement will be in Germany at the Hamburgische Staatsoper (Hamburg), where she will take the title role of Manon Lescaut, by Puccini, on 13th, 16th, 18th, and 22nd of December, a role which she has already performed to great success many times in the most prestigious opera houses in Italy.
Amarilli’s busy agenda does not end there: also in the Puccini line, New Year will take her to the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence) to sing Suor Angelica and to the Teatro Municipal in Piacenza to take the popular role of Cio-Cio San in Madama Butterfly.
