Amarilli Nizza is back in Verona with Aida

This year the soprano Amarilli Nizza returns to the Festival of the Arena di Verona to be the slave Aida, protagonist of the opera composed by Verdi. Nizza is a veteran of the role, which she debuted in 2001 in Athens and sang at the Arena in all its editions since 2005. In the past thirteen years Amarilli was directed on stage of the Italian city by great conductors such as Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Julian Kovatchev and Marco Armiliato, in productions signed by Gianfranco de Bosio or Zeffirelli.This year she  will return to play the Ethiopian princess directed by Catalan team  La Fura dels Baus with the direction of Carlus Pedrissa and Àlex Ollé  and conducted by Julian Kovatchev.

At the end of July she will be in Munich for a gala concert with the orchestra of Arena di Verona conducted by Andrea Battistoni. At the end of the summer Amarilli’s planning is full of events: she will debut the role of Alice in the opera Falstaff by Giuseppe Verdi to the Parma Verdi’s Festival. In October she will be once again Aida in China and in November she will star a long tour with La Fanciulla del West By Puccini, playing the role of Minnie -role that she has debut in Hamburg one year ago- in different Italian theaters such as Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Modena and Ravenna.
